SQPBC race day – Yeronga 4 May 2014

South Queensland Power Boat Club will be holding its next club race day at Yeronga on 4 May 2014.  The previous event was a great day, so don’t miss out on this one – it’s a great opportunity to enjoy a day of low-pressure power boat racing and, if nothing else, a great opportunity to do some test and tune work on your boat.

All classes will be catered for – call Mary McMillan on 0408-756631 or Grant Jones on 0408-278 792 for further information or to advise the club that you’ll be competing.

Venue is Brisbane Corso, Yeronga:

Australian Formula Powerboat Grand Prix – Round 3

The Queensland State Council of the Australian Power Boat Association wishes all Queensland competitors the best of luck in this weekend’s round of the Formula Powerboat Grand Prix series at Lake Mulwala, Victoria.  Whether it’s the Formula 1 class or the stars of the future in the junior classes (or anything in between), you can be sure the Queenslanders will put up a good fight!

If you’re in the area, call in and have a look at some great power boat racing over 12-13 April 2014.  If you’ve never seen what these boats look like, here’s a preview:

SQPBC race day – reminder

Don’t forget that SQPBC is holding a club race day tomorrow 6 April 2014 at Yeronga!  Racing starts at 10.00 am and all classes are catered for.  Even if you aren’t racing, come along and support the club.

If you’re interested in getting involved in power boat racing, club race days are a good way to get to know people and ask questions – the days are low-key and there are plenty of people around happy to chat about racing.

US hydro tuner and engine builder offers help

I have been involved with hydroplane racing in the American Power Boat Association on and off since 1981. My experience has been with a variety of boats from the 1.5 liter Stock Class up through and including the National Modified Class (modified 5 liter and slightly modified 6 liter engines). My expertise has been in engine building and boat tuning. I’ve also had some experience working in Public Relations and Promotions.

I am looking for some new challenges in the world of hydroplane racing and I have a very extensive bank of knowledge regarding our sport, and I’m willing to share my knowledge with someone that is struggling or striving to put their boat at the front of the pack.

Within your connections of people in boat racing, either there in Queensland or in other areas of Australia, do you know of any people that may need help with their racing program, or that may have use of the information that I’ve learned over these many years?

At this point in time, I would be happy to open up any correspondence with you or with someone you know that would be interested in my help.

I live in Northville, Michigan USA, just outside the Detroit area, and I am available at most any time. Please feel free to contact me at your convenience.

Sincerely,

Guy Barczy
